The St. John's Choir of adults and high school age students sings for the 10:30 AM worship service each Sunday from Rally Day until Pentecost. Rehearsals are on Sunday at 9:15 A.M. in the choir room located beneath the Sanctuary. A few extra rehearsals are interspersed throughout the year to prepare for Reformation Sunday, Christmas, and Holy Week. The ability to read music is not a requirement, however a willingness to learn and develop new skills with the other members of the choir is appreciated.
The Congregation Choir is a new offering at St. John's which meets one Sunday per month for a rehearsal at 9:30 A.M. in the Sanctuary and sings in the service that follows. This is the perfect ensemble for anyone who enjoys singing but hasn’t ever sung in a choir before! The music is always easy and the rehearsal commitment light. If you are looking for a fun and easy way to get involved in music at St. John’s, join the Congregation Choir for our next rehearsal and service!
The Choristers are children and youth in grades K-8. Choristers receive weekly instruction in singing and the fundamentals of music. Choristers in grades K-2 rehearse on Wednesdays at 4:30 P.M., and choristers in grades 3-8 rehearse on Tuesdays at 4:30 P.M. All rehearsals take place in the choir room beneath the Sanctuary. Choristers sing several times a year for services including Christmas Eve and Palm Sunday. Prior musical experience is not a necessary. Children of all ages and skill levels learn about music and teamwork while developing skills which they may use throughout their lives!
Eaglesounds is an instrumental ensemble for youth in grades 6 to 12 that rehearses at 9:30 on Sunday mornings.
Instrumentalists - People of all ages who play musical instruments participate either as soloists or in ensembles throughout the year.
