75 quilts were displayed in the Main Sanctuary on Palm Sunday before they got packed up to be shipped all over the world. A big "THANK YOU" to all who helped in ANY way creating the beautiful quilt display. Whether you are a sewer, pinner or a purchaser of much needed supplies, your efforts are very much appreciated!

Please continue to support this important mission. Look what we can do when we all work together!  There will be donation baskets available for all who would like to keep this wonderful outreach project ongoing.  God’s Work, Our Hands. We still need single bed flat sheets ($5.00 at Walmart) for our quilt backs (any color, except white) and continued donations for batting, etc.

As part of the ELCA church-wide service day: "God's Work, Our Hands", several members of St. John's Lutheran Church, Stamford, CT spent the afternoon of September 7 sorting food and stocking the shelves at the warehouse of The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.  The Food Bank supplies food to many area soup kitchens and relief agencies, enabling them to serve those in need who live in our immediate area.

The St. John's gift of over $1000 was acknowledged by The Food Bank’s executive director, Martin Cohen. During the fiscal year ending June 30, The Food Bank distributed 2,439,639 pounds of food through 83 member agencies and programs. That translates into over 4 million meals!

Over 25 volunteers withstood the constant rain to unload the pumpkins on Saturday, November 11. The team unloaded over 2,500 pumpkins that were delivered from the Navajo Reservation in Farmington, New Mexico. Rain or shine, come visit St. John's Pumpkin Patch to enjoy the fall and purchase your Halloween pumpkins. More information can be found here.
